The Barracuda of the second generation (1967-1969) was the counterpart of the Mustang.
If one stands before both vehicles, one recognizes however that the Barracuda was built larger and "more powerful" acting. With the 289cui engine it was with the Mustang past, where against it with the Barracuda the largest small block with 340cui engine ex factory gave, which created it even up to 6000 revolutions. But the Barracuda (or Cuda) also had the big blocks with 383cui 440cui as wedge and even the legendary 426 cui Hemi. Only about 50 of the latter were built, but that's enough to get this engine registered with an H-plate in every Barracuda built.

In addition to the fastback design, the Barracuda was also available as a convertible and a notchback hardtop coupe. The notchback is the more popular model in insider areas and it is also exactly what we can offer you here. A streetable racecar with show car condition

A Drag Racing Model - Not just a model that you have in the showcase. With this car the dream becomes reality. The sporty modifications of the car in combination with the successful design make this car unique.

The Barracuda Notchback we offer you here is a combination of show and race car. For the last owner, we have additionally worked on the car so that it feels much better than any original vehicle, even on public roads. The performance contributes to this. And that's what this car has in sufficient quantity to drive its 408cui (small block 360cui rebuilt to 408cui - 6.6Liter) big V8 engine to over 400hp. Under the hood, the AED tuned Holley HP carburetor, M1 aluminum single plane intake, aluminum cylinder heads, mechanical camshaft, stroker kit and many other goodies provide a harmonious and "clean" look . The engine we have tested ourselves with compression pressure test and pressure loss test and all values are very good!

In addition, the following highlights are still installed:

  • A727 3 speed automatic transmission with automatic/manual valve body, new TCI Hemi hi stall converter (2500rpm) and aluminum oil pan.
  • New TTI 3 inch aluminized exhaust system with X pipe in center, Magna Flow stainless steel mufflers.
  • At the front of the engine are coated Super Competition header headers from Hooker.
  • Also Koni shocks, Torque strap, polyurethane bushings in the front axle, Line Lock for the brakes.
  • Front and rear brakes are Wilwood disc brakes and 4 piston calipers. We have already retrofitted the handbrake that is missing on many race cars.
  • Rear axle 8 ¾" with new Moser thru axles, reinforced leaf springs and adjustable ladder bar system from Competition Engineering.
  • The leaf springs were moved further inward so that the massive tires have enough room in the rear without dragging.
  • Alloy wheels from American Racing in 17" x 8" front and 17" x 11" rear. Design Torq-Thrust.
  • The gas tank and the battery are located in the trunk typical for racing, this gives the best weight distribution.

Needless to say, this `67 Barracuda is not the product of everyday thinking. It is an exciting car.

The premium Red paint is just the beginning, the Ghost Flames create magical effects that must be seen and make this Mopar a constant eye-catcher. Additionally, the interior design is also on fire. The embellishments are repeated on the dashboard, leather covered door panels and trunk cover.

To further optimize the car, as much weight as possible was reduced. Lighter fiberglass hood, bucket seats. Door handles on the outside have been cleaned up, opens from the inside only by a pull loop, lightweight dash and sport steering wheel. The car has welded-in subframe connectors and a cage as body reinforcements. Sport gauges inside, spoiler, gauge outside, multi-point cage for reinforcement and as a safety feature, Chassi reinforcements / traction bars.

The shifter (shift mechanism and lever for the automatic transmission) is the best available for Mopars. It is a Turbo Action Cheeta SCS shifter. This shifter is the only one where the shift cable is led from the rear to the transmission and therefore can not burn on the fan manifolds. But also the shifting is faster with him than with any other, because each gear can also be shifted. The transmission is specially rebuilt for this purpose, it works with significantly higher pressures than in the original gearboxes, so the shifting processes are faster internally and the clutches can transmit significantly more power.

The vehicle electrics were completely renewed and optimized as in racing cars so that they are maximally simple and also maximally reliable. For this purpose, there is a labeled switch panel between the two front seats which also directly contains the modern plug fuses for the respective circuit.

Originally this sporty Plymouth comes from Florida and is in Germany since 2013. There is no German registration yet, only its US title. We can of course create this for you and also any vehicle customization is implementable on request by our specialist workshop.

The car is located in 59399 Olfen, Schloßerstrasse 10 in our showroom. Viewing only by appointment.
