Ballast Resistor for Ignition Coil
Version with 2-pin connectors
Fits all Mopars with original ignition coil up to 1972/73. Afterward, the 4-pin version (part number SMP-RU12) was factory-installed.
1.25 Ohms +/- 10%
Also fits all Firecore ignition coils.
Almost all ignition coil ballast resistors available today are made of a thick ceramic component in the area where the screw for mounting goes through. Unfortunately, this means the original screw from your vehicle no longer fits. Furthermore, the appearance is also a little less authentic. While there is still a rather expensive 100% original ballast resistor available, we are pleased to offer you an affordable alternative.
The internal resistance value is the same as the original factory specification.
For Mopar vehicles from 1960 to 1973 with OEM wiring or cars that have been custom-wired with two-pin ballast resistors. Works with both electronic ignition and point distributors.
Looks similar to the original steel strap ballast resistor design for an authentic appearance.
