Please specify the engine variant when ordering. We have sold other systems in the past, but have found that this one offers significantly higher quality and functionality! These complete front suspension assemblies do more than just reduce weight and create more space (no more torsion bars for the compartments to wrap around): They were designed and precision-manufactured to ensure optimal control in every driving situation. Anyone who gets the chance should take one for a test drive—the difference from the stock front axles is immense!
Now that we can pack massive amounts of power into these vehicles for everyday use, it was only logical that the suspension should adapt to this situation as well. Years of testing by the manufacturer on daily-drivers, track cars, and 7-second dragsters have proven their durability and performance.
Included in the package are the connection to the stock steering column (2 x high-quality universal joints and a connecting shaft), new wheel hubs, a 1 1/16" stabilizer bar, a modified servo rack-and-pinion steering gear, and the hoses for connecting to the stock power steering pump. Motor mounts for all available Mopar V8 engines are also included; they are tear-resistant and made of polyurethane. The shock absorbers are made of aluminum by QA1 and are externally adjustable via adjustment knobs. Optionally, the axle can also be supplied with a coating. Optionally, the axle can also be supplied with dual-adjustable shock absorbers, with separate rebound and compression settings.
Important for the subsequent fit of the front wheels is that, if they are 15-inch versions, they must have a maximum backspace of 3.75 inches. In some cases, 4 in. is still possible with some minor adjustments. We carry Wilwood, Baer, and other brake systems, among others, but a variety of systems from other manufacturers also fit. However, the original Mopar brake system does not fit! After some experimentation, we even found a 12-inch brake disc system with a 6-piston caliper that fits under some original 15-inch rims. Our complete suspension systems do more than save weight and add clearance. They're designed with precise geometry for optimum control, whether you're on the road course, cruising along winding country roads, or driving along pothole-covered city streets.
Durability is second to none with these systems, and they've been tested tough for years in everything from daily drivers, road courses, and 7-second dedicated strip cars. Easy to install and work with, the Alterktion system bolts up to factory frame rails, and as such, is accepted in many classes where other suspension kits are not.
Brake kits are widely available, so if you don't want to use the Wilwood kits we carry, you can easily choose your own brake kit from any manufacturer. System comes complete from connection to your steering column, down to the spindles and includes complete 1-1/16in. sway bar package, custom valved power steering rack, and hoses that will connect to your factory power steering pump.
