Neutral Safety Switch & Back up Light Switch for all Mopar Automatic Transmissions 1968-1977
This switch in the transmission ensures that the vehicle can only be started in the "P" (Park) and "N" (Neutral) positions. The outer contacts activate the backup light. If the middle actuator pin is too long, the backup light may not function correctly; in that case, it needs to be shortened by 1.1 mm. An alternative, more expensive version is the AAA-12410BN Trans Switch Chrysler, which has a 3-prong configuration. For vehicles up to model year '69, a 1-prong switch may have been used, which can be replaced by a 3-prong switch with an appropriate valve body or part number 22770PI.
Material: Steel/plastic
Backup light switch fits all models built after 5-15-68 with an A/T backup light and a neutral safety switch with a 3-prong connector. This switch includes the gasket.
This fits:
Dodge: (1968-1993)
Plymouth: (1968-1990)
Chrysler: (1968-1983)
