For a deeper sound and more power—our new alternative solution for A- and E-body Mopars are these longer “Hooker VR304 Stainless Steel” mufflers, which offer significantly greater volume.
We’ve already installed them in 2.5” and 3” configurations on 1970–74 Dodge Challengers. Both times, they were paired with a TTI exhaust system, and the fit was perfect!
The Hooker VR304 muffler is a compact, oval 304-stainless-steel unit with a 2.50 ″ offset inlet and a 2.50 ″ center outlet. Its straight-through, perforated-tube design with high-temperature glass-fiber packing delivers an aggressive tone under throttle while remaining quiet at idle—without unwanted resonance. The bi-directional flow design allows for easy installation in either direction.
