Manual Steering Box 16:1 – Small Sector / Quick Ratio
Manufacturer: Flaming River
High-performance manual steering gearbox with a very quick 16:1 ratio, designed for use with the original Mopar front suspension.
Engineered for early Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth vehicles. Later model years can be fitted by using the correct pitman arm.
Fits:
1962–1976 A-Body
1962–1972 B-Body
1970–1974 E-Body
Various C-Body models (requires a compatible pitman arm)
This steering box features a much quicker ratio than most original manual steering boxes (approx. 16:1 vs. approx. 26:1 OEM), providing a very direct and precise steering feel.
Note: Due to the quicker ratio, steering effort is higher compared to stock steering boxes, especially at low speeds.
The housing is manufactured from heavy-duty cast iron, offering greater strength and durability compared to many original steering boxes, which were often made from aluminum.

❗ Do not adjust the steering box.
Additional Recommendation
For customers who want power steering assistance with adjustable support, without installing a hydraulic power steering pump, we recommend a retrofit electric power steering assist system.
The drive unit is mounted inside the vehicle on the steering column, keeping the engine bay visually unchanged.
